    Brookdale Healthcare Services is hiring a Healthcare Analyst to join our team!


    The Healthcare Analyst gathers and transforms healthcare data into actionable insights for business leadership. Data sources include, but are not limited to, SQL Server and Oracle databases, Excel/flat files, and other electronic sources. To succeed in this role, the Healthcare Analyst should be analytical and resourceful. They should also be an excellent communicator who’s able to tell the story behind raw data to non-technical audiences and should also have experience in the healthcare industry. In addition to the duties listed below, the Healthcare Analyst may be required to perform other related duties as requested/assigned. The Healthcare Analyst must be customer-focused, driven to grow, have strong attention to detail, and solution-oriented to best support those individuals directly involved in growing the business.


    1. Performs analysis on healthcare data from EMR platforms, 3rd party referral source platforms, and other 3rd party platforms used to support healthcare operations.
    2. Understands capabilities of healthcare systems and informs business leaders on how to best leverage technology to support business processes.
    3. Supports Sales Operations team with analytics and reporting for strategic initiatives.
    4. Designs and builds SQL queries to extract and cleanse data required to support reporting and analytic needs.
    5. Develops ETL processes to facilitate reporting needs for Brookdale Healthcare Services.
    6. Partners with various sales, operations, and clinical teams to identify opportunities for operational improvements, then leverages technology and streamline processes.
    7. Provides training and education to agency, regional, and corporate leadership on new and existing reporting.
    8. Builds financial models to support decision making on items including, but not limited to: operational changes, market potential, specialty services needs
    9. Leads cross-functional projects to improve capture of data key to driving business growth
    10. Serves as SME for capabilities of healthcare systems including: EMR platform, 3rd party e-referral platforms, and 3rd party analytics tools
    11. Creates automated reporting in SSRS or Tableau to support recurring reporting needs of sales, operations, clinical, and central services teams.
    12. Preferred technical experience:  Data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau, SSRS, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI); Microsoft Office, including strong Excel knowledge; Database query tools: SSMS, Golden; Experience working with EMR databases such as: Homecare Homebase, Optima, PointClickCare, Epic

    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university is required. In addition, two to four years of experience of data analysis experience is required, with a strong preference for experience in the healthcare industry.

    No specific licenses or certifications required.

    Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.


    Knowledge and Skills
    Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has a working knowledge of a functional discipline. Interpersonal skills are crucial, as this position will be working extensively with other departmental staff. Organizational skills are of high priority as well as the ability to manage large projects. Individual should possess advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs, preferably in Microsoft Word/Excel.
