Responsibilities

Researches, designs, writes, edits, and maintains engaging learning materials. Designs, produces, and maintains multimedia components for media-based instructional content. Collaborates with Talent Management team members and subject matter experts (SME) during the design, development, and integration of course materials and learning media applications. Collaborates with talent and learning program managers in planning, scripting and, concept development during all phases of the project lifecycle. Provides performance consulting to business owners, stakeholders, and subject-matter-experts. Researches, designs, schedules, and implements training initiatives.
 
  1. Uses instructional design principles and practices, adult learning theory, multi-media technology and other learning theories and methodologies to design effective learning experiences.
  2. Applies basic project management skills and methodologies to the instructional design process (i.e. design and delivery phases of the ADDIE process). Monitors and maintain project timelines.
  3. Determines learning needs and appropriate delivery methods through performance consulting and knowledge of our business.
  4. Partners with internal clients, stakeholders, and SME to ensure content meets business objectives and is appropriate for the intended audience.
  5. Collaborates with production team to develop timelines, storyboard/script with text, voice, sound, graphics, and instructions for programming needs.
  6. Produces engaging graphics, animation, and other multimedia elements suitable for delivery via computer, internet, or print.
  7. Plans, researches, develops, designs, produces, and maintains multimedia content in support of classroom or computer-based, HTML5 compliant, instructional components.
  8. Adjusts instructional materials created for one format to another format (e.g., adjusting instructor led materials into e-learning).
  9. Proofreads learning material for style guide usage and spelling, language, and grammar errors . Employs rapid course development methodologies to meet client needs.
  10. Ensures project documentation and all deliverables are organized and stored within archive resources per organizational guidelines.
  11. Reports on task and deliverable completions.
  12. Develops quality and learning effectiveness measurement tools.
  13. Collaborates with talent management team members, engages in brainstorm sessions, and provides consultations to Brookdale corporate business process owners (BPOs) and SMEs. Help develop concepts from storyboards to finished multimedia course production.  
  14. Implements organizational guidelines and standards for multimedia content production and delivery (e.g. brand standards, hardware and software configurations, Intranet/Internet bandwidth).

Qualifications

Minimal Qualifications 
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or other related field required. Minimum three years of relevant experience, and a digital portfolio showcase required. Experience using authoring tools (e.g., Captivate, Articulate, iSpring) required; experience using SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML5, Captivate variables and advanced actions, CSS, PHP, Camtasia, and JavaScript programming preferred. Additional years of relevant experience can be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
