We are an upscale independent living retirement community located in North-West Houston (near Tomball). The position does involve some security, but only on the inside of the building. This position will sit at our front desk to monitor cameras and life safety systems, this position will respond to resident emergencies by dialing 911, staying with the resident and then contacting the appropriate emergency contact. The security guard will conduct building rounds to ensure all is quiet, during the rounds the security guard will pick up any garbage and check all perimeter doors, making sure they are closed and locked. The security guard will contact the appropriate authorities in the event of suspicious activity, while also communicating to management any incidences and completing an incident report. The security guard will handle any minor maintenance issues, such as unstopping toilets, resetting breakers and helping the residents with tv troubleshooting, they will also contact the director of maintenance in the event of a major maintenance emergency. The position will complete a nightly shift log and note all issues and concerns. There is also the task of placing dinner orders through our POS system and answering the phone.
The shift is part time and the hours are every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm-12am. There will be an opportunity to work more hours sometimes, but it will depend on your availability.

Responsible for maintaining a secure environment for all residents and associates within the building and on the community grounds. Greets visitors, monitors the inside and outside of the building, and responds to emergencies.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Fire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training. For positions that require travel between locations or the
transportation of residents, associate must have a valid driver’s license.
Management/Decision Making
Makes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills
Has a basic level of a skill and can follow written or verbal instructions. Has basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties. Has a basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions.
