Plans, implements, and monitors wellness and recreation programs to meet the specific needs of each and all residents. Ensures residents’ lives are maintained to the extent possible by providing programs and events that encourage engagement and social interaction. The Resident Programs Coordinator utilizes Brookdale mission and cornerstones, as well as the Optimum Life vision, for the foundation of their responsibilities.

Education and Experience
Associates Degree or equivalent with emphasis in recreation, health education or related field and a minimum of two or more years of direct programming experience with older adults is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Requirements for California communities: At least one year experience in supervising associates and in training volunteers.
Uses limited independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and established guidelines. Solves problems using standard procedures and precedents. Knows when to refer issues to supervisor and when to handle them personally.
Knowledge and Skills
Has a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization. Basic typing and computer skills are essential preferably in a Microsoft Windows environment.
