- Oversees the Infection Control Program of the facility and devises infection control reports for submission to Director, Clinical Services and Quality Assurance Committee. Ensures adherence to OSHA regulations and infection control standards.
- Directs and coordinates all in-service educational programs of the facility in accordance with current Federal, State and Local Regulations. Develops, maintains and directs orientation programs for skilled nursing personnel. Conducts regular or special in-services for staff to ensure they remain current on new procedures. - Maintains positive communication with local fire Marshall, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the residence.
- Conducts in-service fire safety training for all employees.

Under the direction of the Occupational Therapists, provides rehabilitative services to patients with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments to improve quality of life and ability to perform daily activities. Assists patients with rehabilitative activities and exercises outlined in a treatment plan developed in collaboration with an occupational therapist.
- Under the direction of the registered and/or licensed occupational therapist, optimizes the physical abilities and skills of patients by assisting in the performance of the following activities: assisting in the screening of patients; implementing treatment for assigned patients; delivering treatment to achieve identified objectives according to the established treatment plan; appropriately documenting progress toward identified objectives and communicating patient status and needs to the patient, the patient’s family, the staff and other professionals as appropriate.
- Assists in the selection of Occupational Therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media as indicated by patient performance and following consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
- Assists in establishing and modifying individual patient schedules in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist and other team members.
- Assists the Occupational Therapist in identifying a problem list, long-term goals, short-term goals and a treatment plan. Monitors patient’s response to intervention and consults with Occupational Therapist if modification is indicated. Adapts treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to meet the individual needs of the patient.
- Adheres to department and patient schedules and modifies as appropriate for treatment regime.
- Provides/recommends/fabricates adaptive devices, orthotics or prosthetics. Trains patient, family and appropriate staff in the use or application of the devices, orthotics or prosthetics.
- Participates in patient, family and staff education. Attend in-service training and facility meetings as required. Provides in-service education to the members of the patient care team and to members of the community. Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
- Confers formally and informally with other team members in coordinating the total rehabilitation program of the patient.
- Adheres to Brookdale Healthcare Services policies and procedures regarding documentation of occupational therapy services.

Provides residents with nursing services as outlined in the personal service plans; promotes wellness, and administers medications and treatments in accordance with physicians' orders and within state licensure regulations.
- Implements and coordinates the delivery of care in collaboration with physician and resource health care personnel.
- Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in applying nursing knowledge.
- Documents all pertinent information regarding nursing care, care plans, observation of the residents’ overall condition and behavior, Medicare charting, admission, discharge, and patient teaching.
- Maintains a working knowledge of community infection control procedures.
- Provides functional direction and assistance to LPNs and CNAs. Completes new staff orientation as assigned.
- Directs resident care to include making rounds on a timely basis to ensure continuity of care. Ensures proper utilization of community supplies and equipment. Answers call lights as needed. Sets up and administers prescribed medications and treatments including IV therapy; operates a variety of medical equipment as necessary.
- Completes monthly/quarterly assessments and documentation as assigned. Attends care plan meetings as assigned. Acts as resident advocate.
- Communicates effectively with the residents, families, visitors, members of the health care team, and other disciplines.
- Participates in screening potential admission and placement of prospective residents in the facility in order to assure competent nursing services.
- Actively participates in community’s Quality Assurance Program. Monitors and assesses clinical systems for concerns and trends; reports findings to Nursing Administration.
- Must have working knowledge of community’s emergency procedures, including fire and disaster drills.
- Attends training to stay abreast of current and emerging nursing/healthcare trends.

Manages the associates responsible for the general operating maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds to maintain proper care of the assigned community(s) in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards/regulations and company policies.
- Supervises the community maintenance, housekeeping and laundry (if applicable) staff, to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, resolving disciplinary issues and firing.
- Directs workers engaged in the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the community. Inspects completed work for conformance to standards and policies.
- Oversees scheduled maintenance on: H.V.A.C., elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord equipment.
- Coordinates maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their rooms, including repairing plumbing, electrical, heating and replacing light bulbs.
- Oversees repairs and maintenance of buildings including vacated rooms in a timely manner. This includes painting walls and cleaning carpets.
- Ensures walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained.
- Maintains positive communication with local fire Marshall, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
- Assesses all plumbing and electrical problems within the community and determines the best course of action to correct the problem. Works within the legal scope of local and state codes.
- Reviews safety data sheets (SDS) as requested for potential exposure to hazardous chemicals used and take necessary precautions.
- Assess property damage and file property damage claims in accordance with company policy.
- Responds appropriately to resident or community emergencies by assisting as needed.
